In a time when everything was being shutdown and we were all being told to ‘stay indoors’, we felt that it was important that the goodness of giving wasn’t forgotten.
So we started karibu, the business that makes a way for you to give great gifts.
We moved into Benji’s Grandma’s house (lockdown meant that she was stuck abroad!) and started selling our first gifts. It went better than we thought. We had lots of fun, made plenty of mistakes, and when lockdown ended - we moved back to London to expand our gift range.
Our gifts are curated using products sourced from some of the best independent makers and businesses. Each of them has a real care for their craft and a story to tell.
And because we think that the world is better when we give, we give 10% from the sale of each box to good causes that make our world a better place.
Every business seems to have a newsletter.
So when it came to starting our own, we wanted to do something a bit different.
We didn’t want to send out the kind of newsletter that goes straight into the junk. We didn’t want it to be just another thing to read either. We wanted it to brighten people’s days.
What could brighten up a person’s day? A bit of good news.
That’s when we decided to start Paper Round. A good news story every Monday (because even we find Mondays a bit of a drag…!).
It might be a reflection from one of our friends, a story from one of our suppliers, or a lesson that we’ve learnt - but whatever it is, we’ll make sure it’s good news!More Stories
